Hi,
Soon I am going to buy a double pedal! I have been looking at the Yamaha double pedals and was wondering what you think of them. I have heard that they are really nice but want an opinion from someone I actually know is a drummer. Thanks!

With regards to our vendors, I would rather tell you in person.

Hey Silas, I've used Yamaha DP's before, there's a kit in my rehearsal space that had one and I test drove it for a whole practice, and I must say I was not as impressed as I am with the Pearl Eliminator, of if you have the budget, the DW 9000. That thing is serious bank though. I have a Pearl Eliminator that I initially liked and then as I got better at double bass drumming I started feeling as though it wasn't the right pedal for me, but it turns out I just had to do some serious maintenance on it and get it all cleaned up and it was nice and smooth again. What's great about the eliminator is that it comes with three sets of cams so you can adjust the angle of the chain/strap which in turn changes the motion of the beater. Also you can slide the pedal itself forward and back on its base which has considerable effect on how the whole rig feels. In short, it's a very nice pedal with a personal touch, you can really make it feel like your personally tailored pedal if you adjust it right. Check some out at the shop, you'll see.

My advice is to try some different pedals out. I completely agree about the Pearl Eliminator but you should just try a few and see what feels best.
