I have been drumming for about 5 years and I just sold my Pacific CX series kit, I was pleased with it when I had it. I have around $1800 for a purchase of a new kit. I play mostly metal/hardcore, and even progressive rock. I am interested in the Mapex Saturn kits, but I'm not sure how they sound because I have never played them.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or any comments regarding the Mapex Saturn Kits?

Picked one up at the shop about a month and a half ago (correct me if I'm wrong Shane, I think it's a Saturn) for my school's band club. Sounds great, good solid hardware, and from what I have seen they have some very nice looking finishes. A very versatile kit too, it was in a jazz performance the night after I picked it up from the shop and practices twice weekly with a hardcore band. Sounds great in both applications.
