Heh, yea I was looking at the Power Shifters and they were prety nice. However I have always wondered if the Tama Iron Cobras are hands down the best, or everyone just plays them. I've never heard a bad thing about them, so I wonder. _________________ Blank face in the windowpane

Skwerl,
I used to work for a store that sold Tama stuff, so I have some first-hand experience with the Iron Cobras. They do have some nice features, but I was never able to get one of them to have a fast, light feel (suitable for jazz, for example)...they always felt really heavy. Also, their beater heads wear out quickly and are expensive to replace. When last I knew, in order to have options on your beater (beyond just felt), you needed to buy the other beaters seperately, which adds up pretty quickly. _________________ www.lucbergerondrums.com

Ah yes, sounds reasonable. I've read some various reviews of them and stuff online, and people liked them a lot. But first hand experience certainly will give you a more realistic perspective. I can't wait to have some time behind my Yamaha, heh. This is like the longest period of time in my life. _________________ Blank face in the windowpane

I have a Pearl Power Shifter Double pedal on my 5 piece kit. It works great. fast , smooth, and a ton of adjustments to fit any style of play.
Can't go wrong with this pedal.

I have used an Iron Cobra for about a year now, playing both Heavy and Jazzy music, and so far I have no complaints. Its got good responce and is real easy to break down to a single kick. Havent had any problems with the beater. (Yet) knock on Wood _________________ This is my Signature

I loved the Pearl pedal I had. The eliminator was it? It was very nice, I liked how you could change the different colored pieces that hold the chain, or blet. anyway, it was nice untill the allen screws started to fall out. Don't know if how hard I play, but I normaly play heel down. Anyways, now I have the DW 5000 series Double, and the thing has not let me down yet, though there has been some added resistance on the left pedals after time went by. But it's been with me for a little over a year now, and i'm crazy happy! _________________
