Hey All,
I'm the newbie, anyways I'm about to order a DW kit, and at the same time I'm upgrading my hardware to 9000 series. After all the pricing and hardware, turns out I have the money to upgrade my pedal too-and give my buddy his 9000 Single back. I love the 9000, responsive, fast, looks great on my current kit.
Here is my problem, I'm one of the few lefty's, and DW doesn't offer the 9002 in left handed. As much as I've picked up playing opened handed, I can't justify taking my brand new kit and playing it right/open handed just for a pedal, so I'm looking for another left handed double pedal. I know the DW 5000 Double comes left handed, but I hate that pedal, my teacher had one that I tried and it just isn't the pedal for me, grant you it is a nice pedal and all, maybe he just got a lemon. Anyone have any suggestions? I do want a double pedal, because as much as I practice my speed and technique, there are limitations on have the single pedal.
Any thoughts would be great.

Nope, I'm the newby.
But I'm also a lefty, and way taller than the average guy. When you figure out the solution the the lefty double pedal question, clue me in, as I'm in the same boat.
I just got a set of pearl exports 6 weeks ago, so I'm leaning towards a pearl lefty double pedal, but I'm open to suggestions. I got a righty double pedal in the deal which I've converted back to a single for the moment. I need to get my feet with the program. _________________ littledenny

i've been able to train my body to play open and therefore use a right handed pedal but i hate it and i'm not able to play at the level i can left handed, i'm looking at the 2000 series from pearl, but i'm still looking.... _________________ A Persons Happy Place Is Supposed To Be A Place Where You Are Calm, Relaxed And Peaceful... I've tried my righty double for a while, and it's simply not the solution for me.
As my set is purely for my own fun at home, I don't see any real reason not to go completely lefty. While I'm so rusty that I don't NEED a lefty double at the moment, I intend to get to the point where I WANT a lefty double.
From what I've read so far, I think I've got a P2002BL or CL somewhere in my future.
I intend to learn all my mistakes on this Export set, so that when I eventually upgrade the drums and cymbals, I'll know exactly what I want, and where it goes. _________________ littledenny

After a bit of research, I've discovered a Pearl P-122TWL pedal that seems to be on the same level as the righty set I've got now. I'm not sure I need to go to the high end of the pedals if I could get the mirror image of what I've got. Wonder if this is actually both pedals, or simply the lefty (right side slave add on ) to the single P-120P? And I wonder if it's significantly less expensive that going with the P-2002 belt or chain sets. Anyone know? _________________ littledenny
