Anyone out there a big fan of Gretsch round badge snares/drums? I recently saw a pair of them in a local store, and here's what I found:
1 - six lugger definished shell, clear lacquer applied to outside. Badge had been removed and put back after the pearl was off. Sounds pretty good, don't think I'd pay 3 bills though (which is what it was priced).
2 - WMP wrap eight lug drum. Looks nice, original shiny wrap and not very faded. Marked at 350, but didn't sound half as good as the six lugger!
I don't think either drum is worth it, but I know they usually command this kind of money or better. What makes them so great? I'd rather have a Ludwig or Rogers drum of the same type and era...
