I'm looking to buy a Hart Dynamics Prodigy electronic drumset, however the only places I know of to find them are online. The reason I ask, is cause I'm looking to trade in my acoustic kit for them, because I haven't used my acoustic set in months and I can't due to my apartment. With an electronic set I can practice at home, and when are band finally gets together, I can use it there too. The price is right for the Prodigy set, and I've read some pretty good reviews of it online. I'm wondering if there's any way The Drum Shop could get ahold of one, or if you guys no where I could find one in a store, mainly so I can try it before I actually drop the $500, and trade my kit in for it, and some other equipment I need. I actually bought my current kit at the Drum Shop (thanks guys, it was a great set, and I loved it for the little amount of time that I used it). It's a Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage 6 piece with an XS-20 cymbal set. I'm hoping to get about a grand for it, cause it's still in good shape, only a few minor dings and scratches, but I didn't use it all that much. _________________ Blank face in the windowpane
Skewrl-
Too little too late! We just had a USED one in good shape sell.
Here's my take on it. It had an Alesis DM5 module with it-and I liked the fact that they had the mesh heads on them-but the sensitivity lacked BIG TIME, which is why the guy traded them in in the first place. The signals were there, but ghost notes and dynamics were impossible-which is ok for a $500-600 kit, but not acceptable for me. I highly suggest you look at the Roland V Compact ($895) or the Yamaha DTXpress ($995). They both are super sensitive, and the sounds are far better. Mind you, the DM5 is around TEN years old, which is decades as far as technology is concerned.
Pintech has one coming out around the first of the year that will sell for around $800-it looks like a winner-but all the pads are mono, no stereo. I think if we put them against the others, than people will feel that the extra $100-200 is justifiable.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for the info, I probably will check into one of the other two you mentioned. Meanwhile, my other question is you guys buy used kits, right? (That's probably a really dumb question) But I'm trying to sell my current set, and I bet I would get more selling it back to you guys than somewhere else I could go. But maybe you could give me a better idea. _________________ Blank face in the windowpane

Cool, one of these days when I have a spare minute, I'll pack it into the car and drag it down there so you guys can see how much you think it's worth, and I can see if you have any of those aforementioned elctro-kits that I could possibly afford. Oh yea, the only other thing I can think of associated with that is the sound mod that goes with it. The Alesus one I've seen is like 300 bucks, and that on top of an $800 dollar kit I don't think I could swing. But we'll see what happens. _________________ Blank face in the windowpane
